The first two solar aeroponics prototypes went into outdoor testing during the spring. I named them Destiny and Twinkle Toes. Starting with sproutlings transplanted into neoprene collars, I ended up with strawberries, cherry tomatoes and a lot of herbs. This model used over 99% less water than a tradional soil-based setup, and was powered entirely from solar. During testing I came up with some modifications to the pump and reservoir system that I'm going to put into the next design for spring of 2023. I plan on also moving to a more permanent raised bed/semi-greenhouse style of structural installation.
